Hours: 35 hours/week
(Typically Mon–Fri; some flexibility for Sundays)
Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a versatile, tech-savvy, and community-minded individual to support our Church Administrator. This role is a unique blend of digital communications, facility coordination, and hands-on community outreach. You will play a vital part in keeping our operations running smoothly during the busy summer season.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Tech: Prepare weekly bulletins and PowerPoints; manage the website, Facebook, and YouTube channel.
Facility Coordination: Act as a liaison for building tenants and summer programs. Ensure safety protocols are followed, manage waste/recycling procedures, and keep entryways clear and supplied.
Community Outreach: Support our weekly "Drop-Inn" program (meal, clothing, and shelter) by assisting with food deliveries, meal prep, setup, and service for our vulnerable neighbours.
Maintenance & Admin: Assist with office duties (phones/emails) and light maintenance projects, such as tending to the Community Garden.
Skills & Qualifications
Tech Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media (Facebook).
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills.
People Skills: Ability to interact warmly and professionally with congregation members, tenants, and "Drop-Inn" guests.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a church environment and managing multiple tasks.
Bonus: Availability to operate A/V systems and Zoom for Sunday morning services.
Eligibility Requirements
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible, applicants must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection.
Have a valid SIN and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
