Cummer Avenue United Church is looking for a summer student for up to 16 weeks this summer.
$20/hour, 35 hours/week.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Church Administrator with office tasks (bulletins, announcements, PowerPoint).
Monitor phone and email in Administrator’s absence.
Upload content to YouTube, update website & Facebook.
Support technology applications including membership database.
Coordinate with tenants, including summer camp(s).
Opportunity to assist with the weekly Drop-Inn program for hungry and marginalized individuals.
Other tasks as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong English communication (written & verbal).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media.
Organized, adaptable & comfortable in a church setting.
Able to work with diverse groups (congregation, volunteers, vulnerable populations).
Eligibility
This job may be funded in part by the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. While the position is not contingent on receiving funding and will be hired regardless of whether funding is received, the following requirements for the CSJ funding apply:
Age 15-30 at start of employment.
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee (international students not eligible).
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Additional Information:
Hours of work are generally during office hours, subject to adjusted hours as required during summer camps. Days and hours per day may be negotiable, with possibility to work Sunday morning to operate A/V system and Zoom meeting for virtual attendees.
