CONGREGATIONAL DESIGNATED MINISTER:

MINISTER FOR CONGREGATIONAL CARE

Cummer Avenue United Church is seeking a part-time lay person to be a Minister for Congregational Care (approximately 20 hours per week) who shall provide spiritual care visits, support CAUC pastoral care volunteers in their visitation/telephone ministry including training of such volunteers, and organize activities in support of pastoral care needs of the congregation.

We require someone with excellent listening and empathetic skills and the ability to provide spiritual/pastoral care to people in various stages of life. A background and education in social work or health services related to the responsibilities of the position would be beneficial. Such a person will have a basic understanding of scripture and of its authority within the United Church, be able to draw on spiritual resources and have the ability to occasionally participate in a leadership role during worship events.
