Scouts help out at the Community Garden
The Newtonbrook Neighbourhood Garden is located on the sunny, Averill Avenue side of Cummer Avenue United Church.
The Newtonbrook Neighborhood Garden (NNG) is planted and cared for by the Green Team and other church members alongside community volunteers, and the 14th Willowdale Scouts. To help address the issues of food security, the garden provides vegtables and herbs that are used at our Wednesday Drop-Inn Program. The garden is the home and resting place for many birds, insects and people.
The garden also provides an educational experience for young and old. It offers opportunities for gardeners who no longer have their own garden to tend, and who want to keep active and involved.
All are welcome to visit and work in our neighborhood garden!
